About Andye J
Born and raised in Chicago, Andye J has been a dancer, choreographer, instructor, and singer for over 19 years. The Monsters of Hip Hop 2007 Show, produced by Tabitha and Napoleon D’umo, helped Andye J make the decision in February 2008 to make her way to Los Angeles to pursue her dancing, choreography, teaching, and singing careers. Since then, she has been blessed with many amazing opportunities such as, performing with Jennifer Lopez as a background vocalist on American Idol and the 2014 Billboard Awards, MTV’s MADE (Hip Hop Coach), the Emmy’s live performance, Hennessey Black promo video (Swizz Beatz), Ed Hardy (Kevin Maher), and singing with Ryan Gosling & Dead Man’s Bones band. Her choreography can be seen with Nicki Minaj (“Anaconda”), Jennifer Lopez (Billboard Music Awards, American Idol), Chonique Sneed’s Welcome to the Cho, MTV, McDonald’s, International Dance Festivals in Bejing, Japan, Sweden, and Singapore and Y-Me cancer benefit in Chicago. Andye J was also the Director of the international dance company Dance2xs (Chicago branch) for four years. She is thankful for the opportunity to teach all around the United States including Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston, Purdue University, University of Michigan, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Houston, as well as internationally in Portugal, Spain, Mexico City, Japan, Chile, Poland, Singapore, Canada, Australia, Taiwan, Italy, China, Sweden, Russia, Korea, Slovenia, Croatia, and Indonesia.
Andye J is currently an artist and faculty member at the Movement Lifestyle Studio and theTour Convention, as well as at the acclaimed Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio in Los Angeles, and the Monsters of Hip Hop Dance Convention. Some of Andye J’s most recent achievements include working with Jennifer Lopez as contributing choreographer for her music video, Booty, and with Nicki Minaj as co-choreographer for her music video, Anaconda. She has also had the opportunity to choreograph some pieces for Jennifer Lopez’s recent 2014 PromoTour, A.K.A, as well as assisting Nicki Minaj’s live performances at the 2014 MTV VMA’s, CBS’ Fashion Rocks, and iHeart Radio in Las Vegas.
